Dadcore Kansas City Concert reviews

I went in expecting to enjoy Dadcore more than Franti at this concert. Quite the opposite. I REALLY enjoyed Franti's warmth and energy, his interaction with band members, and drawing/including the crowd in his concert experience (including walking out in the audience, and having some of the audience come onstage). He made it OUR experience. The sound was clear and alive, and I found myself smiling throughout his set.
Dadcore seemed to be more about himself. His interaction with his band members doesn't compare to Franti, Springsteen or Mraz's interaction with their respective band members. While I was impressed with Dadcore's talent (mostly on guitar), I did not enjoy the "musical journey" as compared to Franti. Dadcore almost seemed slightly bored, mechanical, and that we -- the audience -- were having the time of our lives because we were listening to him. He also said that. I mean, he really said that (to the effect that no matter how crappy our week might have been to this point, that at least we knew we had HIS concert to look forward to). The sound was muddled and unclear, and the energy in the American Airlines Center seem to come more from the audience than from Dadcore. MUCH of the audience seemed really thrilled and loving their Dadcore concert experience, and I am VERY grateful for that, and for them. For me, though, I enjoyed the Franti performance and experience more.
